Jamily Lee!

I was born in Taiwan and began playing the violin at the age of seven. I am currently pursuing a dual degree in Violin Performance and Music Education at UCLA, where I study with Varty Manouelian.

As an alumna of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra (2021–2024), I have continued to develop my passion for orchestral music through various summer festivals. I attended the Chautauqua Institution School of Music in 2025 and 2026, where I performed alongside members of the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra and Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in a Mahler symphony performance. In 2023, I attended the Round Top Festival Institute, where I served as concertmaster for the children’s concert. I also participated in the Taipei Music Academy & Festival (2022) and the Sounding Point Academy at the Colburn School (2022).

As a chamber musician, I have performed with distinguished musicians including Cho-Liang Lin, Ilya Kaler, Frank Huang, and Cynthia Phelps. I have also participated in masterclasses and private lessons with renowned violinists and educators including Regis Pasquier, Almita Vamos, and Midori. Outside of classical music, I have performed with Jacob Collier at Davies Symphony Hall and with Zade Dirani at UCLA’s Royce Hall.

I am also passionate about music education. I served as a Teaching Fellow at Elemental Music from 2025–2026 and have been teaching private violin and piano lessons and coaching string sectionals since 2020. Through my teaching, I enjoy helping young musicians develop both their technical skills and their appreciation for music.
